Choices for Today – The Sanctity of the Individual or the Collectivist Beliefs of the Altruist
Here’s something you’ve probably heard. A favorite saying of an altruist is “This is for the good of society.” Of course, he never defines who this society character is. He assumes everyone knows what he is talking about—or maybe he hopes nobody figures it out.
Did you know that altruists believe in selflessness and self-denial. They exhort individuals, such as you, to sacrifice their best interests for the great god “society.” At different times in history, they used other names for their god, such as “state”, “collective” etc. Whatever they choose to call their brand of slavery, it always means the sacrifice of the individual for the good of “others.”
Obviously since the beliefs of altruists, do-gooders and world-improvers violate Natural and Economic Law, the only result they achieve is the poverty, misery and degradation of the masses.
First they destroy the productive members of “society” through taxes, inflation, government regulations and other confiscatory measures. Then they allow this insanity to cannibalize the benefactors of the producers—the consumers.
The Individual
Consider this. The problem with the “reasoning” of altruists and various other do-gooders and world-improvers is their belief system is upside down. They think from the point of view of the “collective” instead of the individual.
I’m sure you know there is definite proof that individuals exist. There is you, I, John and Mary. It should be obvious to all that there is no such thing as the collective. The collective or society does not exist. Society is a term that describes the combination of all its members. Any analysis of human action has to begin with the individual. Only individuals act. Without individuals, there is no such thing as a “society.”
If a miracle occurred and an altruist became enlightened, he would use such terms as “for the good of the individual.”
Absolute fact. Natural Law means that an individual has a right to his life, liberty and property. No one has a right to use force to take these from him.
Economic Law demonstrates that all interference with voluntary exchanges have undesirable consequences—even from the point of view of the people who advocate them. It proves beyond a reasonable doubt that the system of unhampered capitalism is the only one that is in harmony with its laws.
Certainly, altruists violate these laws when they babble on about “the good of society.” Tragically, they cause much destruction and misery when they force this nonsense on others.
Altruism
You’re intelligent enough to know that the starting point in an analysis of human action is the individual.
Let me ask you this. What other starting point could there possibly be? If an altruist attempted to take his illogic to its logical conclusion, he would begin his investigations with perhaps a hundred individuals or maybe a thousand. If he were consistent he would begin his chain of reasoning with the total population of earth. I’m sure you can see the absurdity of this.
If it was possible for an altruist to violate the laws of the physical sciences, without the immediate effects of his illogic becoming apparent, I believe he would attempt it.
Visualize this. See him attempting to put the final touches on a new building by tearing it down piece by piece. Even more bizarre, observe him disassembling a human body as a therapeutic health measure? He would destroy everything in sight, just as he is now destroying civilization and the hopes, dreams and ambitions of countless number of individuals.
If we discussed the psychological reasons for the beliefs and actions of an altruist we would enter a dark area–a place of extreme evil.
Allow yourself to consider this disturbing fact. Altruists have a deep hatred for the individuals that make up the human race. Because of this, they disdain every characteristic of goodness and productivity the heroic individual displays. They especially despise honest capitalists and entrepreneurs, people who make survival on our planet possible.
Fortunately, there are individuals of high self-esteem, who hold their life as their greatest value. Unfortunately, they are subjected to the extreme envy of altruists. Deep down an altruist is a miserable, hateful human. When he sees someone experiencing joy in his existence, he is bound to envy and hate this individual. What other way is there for him to justify his own existence?
So now we have to make a choice that is critical for the survival of individualism and the future of our country.
Here are the two choices.
Choice #1: The Choice of Anti-Life
Altruism is an evil philosophy advocating violations of Natural and Economic Law. It attacks innocent individuals. In practice it destroys everything that is good, sublime and rational. It is anti-life. When an altruist says he acting for “the good of society” you know that an individual’s life, liberty and property are about to be violated. He sacrifices individuals and the best they can be—until there are no more sacrificial victims. Finally, he is left with only one alternative—suicide.
Choice #2: The Celebration of Life. The Choice of the Individual
Individualism is a rational philosophy that believes in the sanctity of the individual. It corresponds with Natural and Economic Law. It realizes that unhampered capitalism is the only social system suited to needs of its individuals. It doesn’t recognize the anti-life philosophy of altruism, except as the evil it is. Individuals aren’t sacrificial fodder for others irrational needs and desires. They have a right to live for their own sake. They have the right to celebrate their existence. All meaning in life begins and ends with the individual.
