Obama, Health Care and Economic Destruction
Before we move on to health care, I have an announcement.
I’ve been posting content to the Freedom News Blitz Blog 7 days a week. One thing I’ve noticed is that as the weekend approaches pertinent news stories become difficult to find. Beginning this week I’ve decided to post 5 days per week—Monday thru Friday. Fortunately, I also post theoretical or inspirational content to The Libertarian Way Blog on Saturday. So look forward to a mind-stimulating article every weekend.
What can you expect out of the U.S. House of Representatives but terrible, destructive legislation? Obviously, President Obama’s plan undoubtedly will reduce the quality of healthcare in American. Even worse, it will increase healthcare costs, which is about the last thing our fragile economy needs.
Have you ever wondered why bureaucracies believe they know what’s best for everyone else? You know, the “proof is in the pudding.” Let’s face it. Bureaucratic management of other people’s affairs downright stinks. Honestly, how can anyone believe government is more efficient than free enterprise?
When private businesses squander resources and suffer losses they go out of business—unless they have political pull. When bureaucratic monstrosities squander resources and suffer losses congress rewards them with increased funding.
Here’s something that’s incredibly stupid. Funding for Osama’s ill-conceived health plan taxes the rich to pay for the uninsured. Talk about a redistribution of wealth. Ask these questions. How many jobs will be eliminated? How much will hourly wages decline? How much capital that businesses could have invested new companies or create new products will this socialist health care plan siphon from the marketplace?
Here’s something to remember. When you tax something you get less of it. When you subsidize something you get more of it.
Have you heard of moral hazard?
Here’s a definition from Wikipedia encyclopedia.
Moral hazard is the prospect that a party insulated from risk may behave differently from the way it would behave if it were fully exposed to the risk.
I’m sure you get the idea.
Do you really believe politicians care about the consequences of their insane spending and legislation? After all, their favorite economist, John Maynard Keynes said “In the long run, we are all dead.”
Let me introduce you to someone who possesses more wisdom than 10,000 politicians combined. His name is Peter D. Schiff. For some timeless wisdom on Obama’s Health Care plan read his article. Obama’s Healthcare Plan: A Prescription for Disaster
